FLAT ROCK – Flat Rock's girls swimming team swept the relay races and won nine individual events to defeat Erie Mason-Ida 97.5-79.5 Wednesday.

Double winners for the Rams were Ashlin Woodman (200 and 500-yard freestyle), Riley Chevalier (100, 50), Lauren McNamara (butterfly, breaststroke), and Aileen McNamara (individual medley, backstroke). Lauren McNamara hit state qualifying cuts in both her individual races and also in the 50 free swimming a leg in the relays.

Relays wins for Flat Rock came in the medley relay (Lauren McNamara, Aileen McNamara, Chevalier, Elizabeth Sparks), the 200 free relay (Lauren McNamara, Chevalier, Woodman, Sparks), and the 400 free relay (Woodman, Sparks, Kyle Balogh, Aileen McNamara).

Felicia Morrison was first place in diving.

Sophia Chan, Sarah Harkins, Grace Sturgeon, Breanna Sexton, Aubrey Yates, Carolina Garcia, and Carlee Balogh also had swam well for Flat Rock.

Top swimmers for Erie-Ida were Riley Jacobs, Sophia Sorg, and Summer Smith. Gracie Dean, Jessica Lay, Lucia McClain, and Issy Cureton all hit PRs.

St. Mary Catholic Central handed Airport its first loss of the season Wednesday, beating the Jets 2-1.

Holden Kennedy scored the go-ahead goal for the Falcons and also added an assist. Kien Clawson had the first tally for SMCC, which improved to 3-3 overall.

"This was a well played game between two teams that both wanted the win," SMCC coach Nathan Olson said. "SMCC played the last 20 minutes a player down due to a red card. The boys really had to buckle down and play smart the last part of the second half." Holden kept attacking and had a nice go ahead goal."

Nolan Sanders scored his 17th goal of the season for Airport, which fell to 6-1-1.

NEW BOSTON – Ian Petrick notched a hat trick to lead New Boston Huron to an 8-0 mercy win over Flat Rock Wednesday.

Yusuf Alziadi, Landon Julio, Johann Vasquez, Mason Thomas, and Jayden Choryan also scored for Huron. Ayden Shannon and Aidan Dolencic had assists, and Asa Varner earned the shutout in goal.

MILAN – Milan's Carter Higgins scored the tying goal early in the second half as the Big Reds tied Riverview 1-1 Wednesday.

Parker Beard assisted on the goal.

Milan's JV won 3-1 with goals from Keegan Bates, Fred Brown, and Braeden Lerette.

PETERSBURG – Jefferson won a close battle to come away with the sweep of Summerfield 25-20, 25-21, 25-23 Wednesday.

Lindsey Gennoe recorded 24 assists and 15 digs and Anna Boggs had 8 kills and 11 digs to lead Jefferson. Meagan Middleton, Hannah Cronenwett, and Clare Boggs also played well.

Faith Secor and Riley Soldwish led Summerfiled's offense with 5 kills apiece, while Ava Fisher paced the defense with 12 digs. Mia Miller (10 points, 7 digs), Mia Samples (5 points, 8 digs), and Kyra Horak (10 points) also stood out.

Summerfield junior varsity won 25-16, 25-23, 15-8. Maya Stone, Bethany Suydam, Skyler Johnson, and Bridget Salenbien played well for the Bulldogs.

DUNDEE – Milan played a well-rounded game to take all three sets at Dundee on Wednesday 25-14, 25-17, 25-19.

Courtney Nye (11 kills, 11 digs), Malea Wourman (6 kills, 12 digs), Aubree Higgins (5 kills, 10 digs), Mariah Stines (6 kills, .500 hitting percentage), Hailey Knox (12 digs), Lauryn Parris (12 digs) and Madison Slack (31 assists, 8 digs) led the 4-1-2 Big Reds.

"Our passing was great, we had some good action up at the net, and overall I felt like we were playing as a team and as a unit instead of just individuals," Milan coack Makenna Slack said.

Briley Bordine (18 digs) and Kennedy Irwin (13 digs) led a strong Vikings defense and both served at 100 percent. Ella Fowler added 4 kills.

Hannah Roof scored 45 as Airport defeated St. Mary Catholic Central 201-209 Wednesday at Sandy Creek Golf Course.

Natalie Kuti carded a 51, Sophie Bucki had a 52, and Liv Tilley added a 53 for the Jets.

"This is the best team win we have had in the past three years," Airport coach Casey McDowell said.

SMCC's Nora Kinsey was medalist with a 44.

NEW BOSTON – Grosse Ile's Hanna Hargrove ran away from the field with a medalist round of 40 to push her team past Flat Rock 233-272 Wednesday at Willow Metropark Golf Course.

Chrissy Cumbo led Flat Rock with a 59.

Dundee won in three events but stumbled with a 105-80 loss to Adrian on Wednesday.

Joslyn Ball was a double winner in the 200-yard freestyle and the butterfly. She hit a state-qualifying time in the 200 free. Lily Ratliff took first place in the backstroke.

The Vikings recorded 17 season-best times.

Ida's girls placed sixth and the boys took seventh at Wednesday's eight-team Hillsdale Invitational.

Hanover-Horton won the girls meet with 51 points in a close battle with Hillsdale Academy with 55. Ida scored 147.

Katelyn Bydlowski finished eighth and Julia Hughes 10th for Ida.

Hillsdale Academy scored 54 to win the boys meet. Ida had 192.

Dylan Tengler (16th) was the top finisher for the Blue Streaks.
